Straw- I happened to drive down Ridgewood about an hour orso ago. From the Millburn line, to South Orange. I was amazed at the number of Profeta signs I saw. I think there may have been only one or two Deluca signs. Does this mean they've been replaced? It will be interesting to see if they are still there tomorrow afternoon. | ||

Maybe the owners are taking them down themselves. Because they either woke up and realized what Fred was all about or because the signs were put up without their permission. I noticed a Deluca and Profeta sign on the same lawn and the owner was out so I asked what that was about and he said this is the 3rd Profeta sign I have taken down. "I for one have joined forces with others to catch those responsible." Me too!! I've noticed Profeta signs at the quick check on SA. I know they don't endorse anyone. There seems to be quite a bit of ramdom sign planting by the Profeta camp. Esecially in the Hilton Area. | ||

I drove down Ridgewood Road yesterday on my way to Brian O'Leary's wonderful party for his moderate, intelligent, witty and incredibly attractive supporters and all I could see were Fred Profeta signs and a few DeLuca signs (the latter of which were bent into the ground). Dave -- if you WALK down the street you can see many signs which are ripped off their metal poles or pushed over. In the area between New England and Durand, walking on Ridgewood, we counted about 6 or 7 Sunday morning. | ||

I have experienced both sides of this issue. The sign in our yard was taken apart the first day it was there. Probably teenagers. We've had that happen before with Halloween decorations. Replaced the sign and it's fine. However, I witnessed the owner of a house on Tuscan taking two Profeta signs in that had not been put in the yard by permission. Full disclosure: my spouse is a Democratic district leader campaigning for Fred/Ian, I see both sides and am trying to stay neutral. R | ||

There's a DeLuca sign near us (not ours) which has been knocked down several times, and once its wire frame was missing. It's been replaced. I really do think that it's kids, not people on the side of either campaign who are responsible for problems with signs. They're tempting targets. | ||

This stuff happens every year and 99% of the time it is kids. The only really good one was when Vic was still Mayor and the building department seized a misplaced sign for Ken Keusch (sp)from Mem's parents lawn. Now that was hillarious.  | ||

Most likely teens?!?!?!? Who'd have ever thought that was even a possibility! Round em all up and send them all to reform school. Or maybe its their cry out for a right to vote. Since it was alleged that this is being done by "Vic supporters", maybe someone can conduct a telephone poll of the kids to get to the bottom of this. | ||
