After reading these comments made by Pizzaz I am sick! To think that this man almost was elected to office in our town. Pizzaz you should move from this town. And to think that you are a local long time business owner. My family, friends will never step foot in your restaurant again. You will never be able to hide from your comments.
THIS IS PIZZAZS COMMENTS. I hope the star ledger prints them!!!!!

(Was it robbery at the liquor store, or a bad drug deal that took its business to the afro hair salon? I think we all have a right to know.

Oh, and Stacey if this is the changing demographics you refer to - then you can certainly kiss my white •••.
It's not any more racial than the comment about a change in demographics or the persecution of the Beifus Development team by Teri-Ann and seconded by Stacey. Let's say we agree on issues of apparent markers and a very strong need to enforce business standards and protocol.

Other than that, sure I apologize to Stacey and you who take offense to my comments. )

MR. PIZZAZ I DO NOT ACCEPT YOU APOLOGY AND NEVER WILL.

Pizzaz, your bigotry comes across every statement you make. Be it religion or race your intolerance comes out clearly. And then you apologize to those whom you have offended. FYI your bigotry is offending to most of Americans who try to heal our wounds of the past.

If trustees Stacey Jennings and Terriann Moore-Abrams came to the BOT to promote their racist agenda, it doesn't make right for you to be a bigot.

It takes a certain humility to run for political office, doesn't it "Mr. Mayor"? In your case, it's well-earned. Are you class president, too? Oh, wait...

Anyhow, I hope you aced all your finals, and that you'll enjoy graduation, and the best of luck in all endeavors. See you on the Quad...

Yes, a certain humility that I suppose you don't have. I suppose it would also take something else you lack, class.

Thanks for the well wishes even though I detect a bit of sarcasm. I would say the same for you, but I won't.

Joe Krause,

Nobody is perfect, but his response in the other thread was uncalled for.

Myself? I was VERY suprised at his colorization and stereotyping of an African American establishment and ASSUMING "a drug deal gone bad" taking place. It was WRONG, and as an AA I take offense to this!

Perhaps it's Pizzaz who needs to "GROW-UP!"

Oh, and Stacey if this is the changing demographics you refer to - then you can certainly kiss my white •••.

BTW… No one called him an animal.

Phenix, I agree with you to an extent. Why bring color into this, I agree. But I also believe that half of this problem is people making too much of a comment like that.

If the word white had not been used, would that have been OK?

People overreact whenever a color is used in a sentence. Who cares. White, black, purple? What does it matter?

No Mayor - it's not the word white. It was his reference to Stacy's "new demographic" comment. In the context of the shooting, he implyed that the new demographic is violence purpetrated by AA's. That's the problem, not his white . Although I also have a problem with his indicating that Stacy could kiss it. That statement was crude, rude and boorish.

Asking a member of the Trustees of the village one lives in to kiss your (no matter what color)is disgusting. Without the color, maybe not racist but certainly crude and juvenile. And frightening coming from a well respected member of our COC and business community.

The fact is the Trustee was the first to make a racist statement. I think that needs to be understood even tho 2 wrongs does not make a right.

Like LL said, take out the color of the person's tush and it is STILL a nasty and perhaps sexual harrasing statement to be thrown at a female Village Trustee.

Senor Inquisitor: When I heard that Trustee make the first (of a sequence of) several statements which you'd likely term "racist", I was reminded of Hizzoner Ray Nagin discussing his city in terms of "chocolate".

That said, Pizzaz and Jennings are somewhat alike (each in the manner of their own "demo") in their unguarded and unnuanced approaches to race in our Village.

At the very least, they have shown unbecoming sides of themselves (take it from one whose unbecoming sides are legendary on this board), and I doubt that their political futures are brighter because of their remarks.

And to think, some folks say my running for office would be a joke...

SI - this is not the lying game thread.

Phenix and LL. I get the point. My point is that people are overreacting to this. Everyone put so much stock in the race thing. I don't know why. Who cares.

Until people learn to lighten up there continue to be problems with race in the community.

Hey Kraus anyone who speaks the way he did is disgusting and I assure you it is not my opinion that this type of person will not be respected by most. To tell any Trustee to kiss his WHITE A** is totally disgusting. And to say it to a female African American Trustee is so unbelievably disgusting. And for a statement like that to come from someone that is a business owner in town is sick. And for it to come from someone that potentially could have been a Trustee in our town is scary. And if you do not see this then I feel bad for you!

Personally, I would welcome a post from the gentleman to whom Mr. Pizzaz referred when discussing the AA man who resides with him (etc, etc). I would expect that he could give us a better understanding of the true nature of his employer's racial attitudes, as expressed one-to-one and without filters...

Nah. I never said anything nasty or skewed about my old boss while I worked for him. Why should this guy?

But I'd still wanna believe that Pizzaz is a right guy. Wouldn't you?

True nature? Didn't you read Pizzazs posts on this issue? I believe this is his true nature. To say something like this once sends a clear message and then to come back with a second statement sends a very clear message and to actually put it in writing sends a un disputably clear message. At least to me!

jesus fsckin' christ, some people....
so what if he said afro hair salon, I didn't think it was a racist statement when I read it, what would have been better, would Afro African American Salon have been better?
What about, that hair salon place that caters to people of African & American descent?
Perhaps, that hair salon for black people?
Maybe....
Just what is an African American anyway?
Is that someone who is American, but wishes they were African, or is that someone who was born in Africa, immigrated to America, and became a legalized American citizen?

Hmmmm, I guess I could always start calling myself a Scandinavian, Irish, English, North American Indian, Germanic American.

Naaaahhhh, I think an American will do just fine.

Back to the afro salon thing, didn't that get across that it was a salon that is perceived to have a cliental that is made up of a demographic that is largely based on people that are not of caucasian descent?
Now isn't two words much easier to type and to read than all the crap I posted above.

Ya' know, usually the people that are the ones shouting things like racist the loudest, are the ones that have the problems.

By the way, this Scandinavian, Irish, English, North American Indian, Germanic American Mutt went to Bunnys and enjoyed a couple of beers today, and I'll be there again too.

"And to say it to a female African American Trustee" - who cares what her race is?

"I would welcome a post from the gentleman to whom Mr. Pizzaz referred when discussing the AA man who resides with him" - What does it matter? Why? He is a nice person, who gives a what he color is?

"True nature? Didn't you read Pizzazs posts on this issue?" - I don't think you really care about the truth. You would rather have your sensationalism and your idiotic rantings. Anyone who knows him knows the truth. You don't have the first clue about what you are talking about.
