Hey everybody, I've been to Lot 15 twice. Once when they first opened, and once last week.
The first time was horrible: Overly expensive menu, porr service, no ambiance. I felt like i was eating in a hospital cafeteria.
I would never have gone back if not for the persistance of my girlfriend. We met a couple there who inisisted we gave it another try.

What a turn around!

The service was impeccable. Our waitress was knoweledgable about the menu, courteous and extremely enthusiastic. I spoke with the manager, Arjan Roghanchi and the co-owner Giacomo Ortis after my meal to tell them how much the placed had changed for the better. It is clear that the wait staff is taking their cue from these two men. Professional, and very welcoming and appreciative, they were most of all fun! We enjoyed a round of after dinner drinks with them.

And enough cannot be said about the food. Chef Joe has done a great job changing the menu, infusing it with more diverse items. The menu that was once expensive and steak based is no affordable and includes many more options. I highly recommend the mixed grill over rice and don't miss the stuffed mushroom appetizer!

I would like to know if anyone else has noticed the great improvements to Lot 15?

Mapleman, thanks for posting! I had read the original menu and written the place off. Will now check into it again.

cheers -

I never thought the menu was pricy I just could not stand the smoke from the bar.

I too had written it off after an incredibly average $110 dinner for two. Maybe it's worth another shot.

Hey mapleman.. First under the name Arjan Roghanchi there was the exact same post under the little league thread then it was removed and now it is posted under mapleman on this thread! Are you trying to tell us you are just a customer? What is the story here!

I searched the posts, and while it says 3 posts under mapleman, there are only 2. Hmmm.... very suspicious.

Suspicious indeed. I have the original post in email, and the author was definitely Arjan Roghanchi - the maager of Lot 15 according to the post. Can we assume MapleMan123 and Arjan Roghanchi are one and the same, and that he is shilling for Lot 15?

Either that or someone else is using his name...

I hate to see this sort of thing. We like Lot 15, and take our business there when we want to spend the money on serious red meat.

We've been there about 4 times, always very happy with the food, and the trend of improvement in decor and service. Not cheap, but neither are the other places we'd go to fulfill the steak fetish.

I agree with Susan. Regardless of who the poster is, the food and service have improved since their opening. All in all, it's a great addition to downtown.

serious red meat..I have had the steak there and it is not up to par with any steak house i frequent. River Palm is a good choice in NJ or Sammys in mendham or even the strip house in livingston are much better choices.

And what is sad about this post is this. If in fact it is the manager and I believe it is How sad that he starts off saying he has been there twice and the first time was horrible poor service and then goes on to totally trash the place. What is that about?
I for one have given it two tries and both times it was terrible. I hope they can turn this place around. They should turn it into a upscale diner menu! Great breakfast, lunch and simple good family place for dinner. Get rid of the bar or atleast move it to the back!

Personally, I've never been to Lot 15. I don't want to disparage them. If Mapleman123 is the restaurant's manager, I would have appreciated it if he had simply come here and said "We've had some trouble in the past, but we've been working on it. The food and service have REALLY improved. Give us another chance to impress you."

If he's not (which is a possibility), my apologies for any implied slight.

Anybody know the names (and spellings) of two owners of a restaurant and the name of the chief? (I know I don't, and that’s what I thought when I first read this earlier on the other thread). If Mapleman is not the owner or an employee, I'd wager a bet that he or she was aided in posting.

The best steakhouse in NJ is The Smoke Chop House in Englewood. As good as anything in the city and one of the best wine lists anywhere (no, I am not the owner or manager )

User- if smoke bothers you, make sure you let them know when you make your reservation. They have a non-smoking room downstairs.
