We have to be there for each other. That's what is important. And I am here for my friends on MOL. Or, as I call you: my friends. |

Hi y'all, I am kind of a stranger to this blog, but once in a while check in. I just had to share this with you. All your skin problems will go away with Arbonne Swiss products. You can check them out online. Let me know if you are ready to go the nine yards and do the best thing ever for your skin. I know a dynamite gal that gives parties now and then. I began using this stuff two years ago, and LOVE it. Wish I had figured out they existed years ago!! It's preventive, healthy, and it nurtures your skin with no fake stuff or chemicals. WOW. There is a party tomorrow night, so if anyone is interested, let me know here today and I will e-mail the info. Oh, Las, hi! Be in touch. |

Hey Duncan - I think the Arbonne will be a nice indulgence after my recent Napalm treatments. It's time. |

So after all the hospital visits and doctor visits and testing and uncertainties and drugs and days missed from work, the verdict is: I have migraines. (No!! Really??) My neurologist isn't too forthcoming with the talks right now, but he calls me everyday (except Wednesday, he warned me on Tuesday he was taking a break from me) to take talks and things a little bit further because he doesn't understand why I need to rush and get everything on the table at once when I can't even open my eyes all the way. He's right. My blood pressure is still going down, and until it does I'm on two drugs to help it do so. I have to take my pressure twice a day (I'm still keeping the pressure log for visitors - stop on by!) and the numbers dictate how much of what drug I take. The drugs shouldn't be for life, just for now, but I'll always have to measure when the migraines hit and treat accordingly. (Which is actually not a bad thing, considering my advanced hypochondria and all - oh, excuse me, I have to take my pressure...) I don't know why this happened, why there were so many awful headaches at once, but I don't care right now. I am so tired and I can't laugh or have a BM without holding my head, and although I'd like to comment on the status of my head, each time I do it precipitates bad things, so I'm content with being tired and having aching eyeballs and moving slowly with my two new doctors. Because there really is no reason to rush. (That's not insightful, it's just logical: why rush?) If - heaven forbid - I had to do any of this over, the one thing I would change, as would Ess, would be dressing a little nicer for the hospital. You never know who you might meet, and there's no reason to not look your best no matter how much pain you are in.

Las, Glad you are on the road to recovery---missed you! Your Ernie is one cool cat! So, the verdict is migraines. Well, I suppose there is some small consolation in that. Still, very unpleasant. Take it easy, take it slow, and know you have a legion of well wishes coming your way. Calli |

Been wondering where you've been and what you've been doing. Good to hear it's "only" migranes, but sorry to hear you've been having such a rough time. It's reassuring to know your kitties are taking such good care of you. Love ya. Feel better soon. |

More Photos From Lynn's Sick Scrapbook By Lynn and her Assistant, Ernie After a long day of smothering me and jumping in the freezer, Sydney (bottom) and Ernie take a couple of cat naps.
This is me, mid-migraine, at my neighbor's flat across the way. She needed a third person present, someone to be, well, a third person. I'm good at that. I went over in my pj's, lied down on her sofa, and was indeed, the third person. (My face was too hideous for public viewing (pre-Napalm scrub.)
Watching the rest of us sleep all day inspires Al to take a nap of his own.
Twelve days predominantly spent in my flat. Cat photos inevitable. |

Just curious, what's a 'third person'? (Other than the obvious). I love the view out the cat tree window, do they use it as a bird-tv? |

Sadly, Scully, it's not that exciting for me. As the third person I was the third wheel - the annoying neighbor who didn't allow the visiting man to have a moment alone with her because I just wouldn't leave. |

I haven't house cleaned for a hundred days and just for kicks I checked last year's emails. Really, just for kicks. Not for answers or insight, just curiosity. -----Original Message----- From: lynn Sent: Mon 5/9/2005 11:24 AM To: Sam Subject: RE: Lawn Service L: How are things? S: Things are okay. And he had the audacity to tell me how things were??? I never replied. These fifteen words were the last bit of civility between us. Him used to make sure we had an emergency Coke in the fridge for the first sign of a migraine, and he'd pack my head with frozen veggies and hold my left hand while I injected myself with the right and lie with me close until the shot took effect or I was ready to fall asleep. My friends and my neighbors and my cats took such good care of me I gush at how fortunate I am. Him is so irrelevant. I don't even have anything crass to say, there's just no need. I R R E L E V A N T. I missed Spring last year. This is going to be a really good Spring. |

I received my first 'B'. And it doesn't bother me because I made it through this horrific semester of six credits with almost three straight weeks of migraines. I made it through this painful term knowing I likely won't graduate a mere semester shy of my degree. And I'm okay with that and I'm okay with the 'B' and I'm really looking forward to doing nothing and being a nothing for the forseeable future. For the past five years I've said I like myself better in school. I do, but I'm looking forward to a well-deserved brain rest. I designate thee: THE SEASON OF THE MINT JULEP because the veranda is always a nice place to be Class 1: B Class 2: A Current Term: 3.500 Cumulative: 3.771

Ah, Bets, Calli, B - we need to enjoy mint juleps together. We are going to have a very good season together. I saw him. A short while ago. I left work early for a doctor appointment and was driving along Maplewood Ave towards South Orange Ave and stopped at the Jefferson stop sign. Revving up the hill to assume its right of way was a Miata and as it got closer I mused, what if the plate says LYS..., and the plate did say LYS... so I looked up and he looked up and I know he knew it was me because he chose the car I was driving and in a surreal moment we went slow motion as he passed through the intersection in his gay green car with his very tan skin and very poufy hair our faces locked and the world stood still except for his car driving by. I know I was in shock because the car went so slow just like the second plane as it came across the harbor and over my head and putted into Tower Two. And of all the things I could have thought and all the thoughts that bounce around the place my mind went was the best place of all: to my new favorite Accountant* who gives me the best tax advice I've ever received in my life. And the second place my mind traveled was to ask myself, doesn't he have a day job? It was a surreal pseudo-encounter. It wasn't bad it wasn't hard it was just what it was. And my mind went back to my fab Accountant* because it's much more fun to think about him than a dead person. And I got to my doctor and we had a talk and he ran some tests and he said to me If you'll excuse me I've got to see sick people - I am no longer one of them! He's keeping me drugged for thirty more days for my blood pressure's way down but not down quite enough and he doesn't want the neurologist telling him how to do his job. I can handle the drugs for thirty days. *Think Decorator, only ...better educated. |

congrats on your clean bill of health!
I must hear more about the Accountant. Is that why you looked so happy yesterday? I thought it was because school's out for the summer/next few semesters.... think of your encounter this way: You can only see him for the first time once. And it happened.

IMHO most Miata drivers are irrelevant loser's! Although I am not a frequent poster,I was amazed and decided to tell you so when I read your post this am. You have come SOOOO far! I am proud of you! You have made me laugh and you have made me cry, and I don't even know you IRL. The way you express your feelings in written word has made me feel your pain, anger, and joy. I hope you realize that among your "vocal" MOL posters; the silent blog readers have been rootin' for you too!! Keep your spirits high, and congratulations on making it this far on a long strange trip. |

When I first read about Las taking up running, I was impressed. I wanted to join Las. But, alas. I hate to run. I like the idea of it, tho. Apparently, Las was telling TS about the running route. I think that I could handle that. Just one question: is your yoga routine similar? |

I live by myself. Why am I always talking in code? Yoga means yoga. Running with Red means getting dressed to run, but heading to St. James Gate instead. Running (other than running with Red) means running. Decorating used to mean having sex, but now that I've started consulting with my new Accountant (see below) I'm contemplating changing the meaning of Decorating to, well, decorating. I probably won't have to tell my Decorator, since he pretty much does his own decorating whether I'm there or not. Accounting means a little bit of heaven right here on Earth. The euphemistic potential is phenomenal with an accountant: Audits, my books, aggressive investment tactics, diversity, not to mention Portoflio value (of ESS fame). Oooh - I get shivers... Issues - when my cat, Al, has issues, it means he took a dump Outside the Box. Outside the Box, although it implies the cat 'missed' said box by an inch or so, it generally means the cat took a dump on a rug, in the sink, on the sofa. Financial Advisor is really my financial advisor. Cooking in my Kitchen means purchasing prepared foods at Whole Foods. Dead Man Driving Gay Green Miata - doesn't get any clearer. Is is odd these terms come up in the general course of conversation? |
