I'm perfectly fine if we stay with Mrbtabr, although it will be a pain to have to spell it for people all the time.

I think I'm the babysitter who doesn't do poopy diapers.

Nothing Southern for a boy; it tends to morph into "Bubba".

If we're going biblical, did anyone mention "Mordechai"? His nick-name could be "Chai", pronounced "Kie".

Isn't it??

I really liked the name Mallory until I saw the meaning...it's terrible!!! It means "bad luck"!

malcolm - again we have good friends whose son has that name ( I like it too!)

I like Marlow and Marley, but they say 'girl" to me

I meant "Isn't it fun??"

Maddox - um, a little too Angelina Jolie for my taste!

ess - if I didn't want to use an "m" after my dad, I'd want to name the kid "Jack"!!! even better with our last name!

Little Ess has a good friend named Marley, who is a girl. Granted, she is an awesomely cool girl, but still, a girl, and thus I agree that the name says "girl".

Mallory says "girl" to me also, having grown up in the era of "Family Ties".

Millard? It's so....presidential.
Mortimer?
Myron?

(I AM KIDDING.)

Oh yeah, I wasn't thimking of Marlo Thomas "Marlo," forgot about her.

Yeah, that's tough. Seems all the M names I have liked most for boys your friends have taken, other than Miles, which Notehead doesn't like.

There's always Marvin.

Or if you wanna go retro, Mel.

Marcel (my dad) or Molly (that was my immediate thought as I have a brilliant, beautiful, and personable niece by the same name and someone else posted it 1st).

That will be my last post on the name game - let's talk about Pippi. When's the MOL Shower for Baby?

After the baby is born, Bets! (or not, but considering what Pippi said about having the crib delivered after the birth, I'm feeling that would be more comfortable for them).

Melbac, Merlot, Mondavi.

Let's leave the shower date up to them. But, I volunteer to be on the planning committee!

I'm envisioning Sunday Brunch. TS does a maginificent Brunch. I can't be in charge of games, tho. I don't know any appropriate ones. Now, if we want to be inappropriate......

Seriously, Piphead - you guys are going to let us do an MOL shower, aren't you?

Do those MOL hats & t-shirts come in infant sizes? I know that there used to be MOL coffee mugs, but are there MOL baby bottles?

Wait! It gets even better! A Photo Op of Jamie kissing the MOL baby!

I am superstitious where baby showers are concerned and I wouldn't feel comfortable with a shower in advance. (although I have been wanting to taste the yummy creations of TS, since I've heard so much about what a great chef she is...) It is really really sweet of you guys to ask.

I do think an MOL stretchie would be adorable!
As, of course, would a photo op with Jamie. Too bad he can't use the baby in the upcoming election !

PS- I personally HATE shower games (who doesn't??)

OK - we'll do it next January. The first MOL F2F of 2007. Although, if the little one is here before Xmas, we could make a party game out of decorating s/him like a little mini-Xmas tree.....

As per your wishes, Pip, we'll stick to drinking games.

Actually, I will try to breastfeed. But If I can pump (the idea makes me feel like a cow) then I can make a few bottles to put off to the side for those nights I must drink

Also, I imagine (although I have no idea) that it's ok to use formula while your are breastfeeding. Am I wrong?

I don't know that the formula will hurt you, but unless you mix it with beer or wine, I can't imagine that you'd want to drink it. Yuch.

Yes, for a very hungry baby, or when you aren't able to breatfeed etc, they will take it, but try and find the nipples for the bottles that are meant to mimic "you", as the way the baba takes from you is a different way that it will drink from the bottle. Wow, that makes the babe sound like a wino..

I remember one time I had some champagne (wetting the babys head a wee bit), and then 4 hours later fed her, wow, did she have the windy-pops!!!!

It is perfectly OK to supplement with formula while breastfeeding. Further, it is a good idea to pump and keep milk in the fridge (for up to 5 days) or the freezer so Notehead can feed the baby while you sleep, shop, or have lots of drinks. The more you express milk, the greater your milk supply will be.

Incidentally, a glass of wine now and then while nursing your baby is not going to hurt the baby.

Regarding a pump: don't for one minute even consider a manual pump. It's basically ineffective. There are decent battery operated ones, and even high-tech electric pumps, that do the job infinitely better. With a small portable pump, you can even do it at work.

Sorry if this is TMI for the squeamish among us.............
