Uh..OH..some competition in the PRS derby in the form of the new 513

Course that red wouldn't be my first choice. but cool...
513 pickup system (patents applied for)
5 single coil pickups - 13 sounds
Volume and tone control with 5-way blade pickup selector
3-way blade mode selector - heavy humbucking/clear humbucking/single coil

Though I wont start a thread by itself out on MOL you all should know that my wife, child and I are moving from Maplewood. WE have found a fantastic place up in Maine where my wife will teach, and I will teach and act and continue to amke films. I will miss Maplewood, but will stay in touch. I hope you each find happiness in this very unhappy state.

I am thankful for the many friends I have made here and hope to keep in touch with many of you despite the many miles that will seperate us. Our goal is to sell the house and be out of here by summer. Wish us luck!

God Bless.

Cheers

Wow. You will definitely be missed and your new neighbors are going to be very lucky.

It's tough when Maplewood loses a class act and his great family. But obviously I wish you guys the best of success up there.

...you know you and yours ALWAYS have Les Saisons to stay at as our guests!

Damn! It always seems to work that way in life... Woulda, Coulda, Shoulda spent more time with you. We'll miss seeing you and your family around town, but will look forward to reading your Blog that I know you "better" keep to date.

Libby and I are wishing you guys success and all the best, and how about having you and your pals here some weekend morning for a MOL "Pancake" breakfast send of party? Lets make a plan....

I was in all of the music stores on 48th street yesterday and I played Blackbird on a McCartney signed Epiphone Texan. Not a big deal in the scheme of things but in some ways, really cool. It also got me over my desire to buy a PRS 513. Beautiful axe, but just not the thing I thought it would be. Which saves me 2-3K right there.

You could get some coin for that I bet.

I have a few things I think would do OK on the old ebay. But the thing is I like them and I like looking at them. OHHHHHHHH the irony.

Hey BUST has been accepted into another festival!!! First time it has gotten into a festival where The Reader didn't screen last year. Funny, I also submitted The Reader to this festival this year and they didn't take it. Weird how one film that has had a great festival life is passed over for the other.

Here is the festival web site

And I just had the funny realization that on the same weekend in May I will have a film (The Reader) screening in Hawaii at the same time as I will have a film (BUST) screening back here in NJ.
Thats a bit of all right.

Hawaii, obviously. However, the more practical "networking" opportunities are going to be available in Jersey. I met Frank Vincent last year at a different festival with a different film so it will be good to see him again with another product.

Now, if I can live through the extraction of one of my teeth tomorrow....

Had been talking about SPIKE in another thread and so this morning listened to some of it. Veronica came on and I about burst into tears. Amazing how repressed memories can be triggered by the smallest thing. I have worn that album (first) and the CD to rice paper but for some reason this morning it brought back all the memories of when my grandmother lived with us when I was a middle school aged kid and how she had then, what was called dementia, and would probably now be diagnosed as Alzheimer's. Suddenly listening to the song I am driving down the road trying to explain to my 5 year old son why there are tears streaming down from behind my sunglasses.
Guess its gonna be one of those days. I better stay out of the soapbox.

strange and wonderous and fantastic and spiritual stuff indeed.
Its funny I am not particularly blase about music. It touches me viscerally. I either love it or hate it. There is very little music that makes me go...yea well thats alright I guess.

a) Saw this and thought it may give you film funding ideas http://www.the1secondfilm.com/

b) When selling art I learned it helps to note the size and medium and year it was painted along with a title, if it has one.

thanks for the link Dave. I have spent time crawling around there. Uma Thurman's one time husband, whatever the hell his name is, tried selling "Shares" in a company to raise money. I like the 1second film project better.

As for the Guerrero.

An empty space that is emptier. My wife and son headed to Mass. this weekend to celebrate my MIL's birthday. I stayed behind to do the festival thing up in Teaneck. Work has always caused this sort of thing to happen, wife and or son goes away, I stay behind to either do the festival thing or a show or rehearsal or what have you. Been doing this for all of the 10 years we have lived here. But for some reason, this weekend the house feels COMPLETELY EMPTY. Walking around in the house last night, kind of restless as I always am when no one is here, everything seemed...well...quieter and sharper. The sense of solitude was a little unsettling. Usually when this sort of thing happens I am silently glad that I will get to sleep a little later and not have 5 year old demands made on me as soon as I get out of bed but this morning the house was just empty.
Thank god for my guitars.

All the beauty just keeps shaking me

Today my third short film BUST screens at a festival at 2pm. Right now it is about noon and I don't have the least desire to attend. Is that bad? I am getting a bit weary of working the films I have already done and not having the time, therefore, to work the films I want to do.

At least it is a lovely day and so I am sure that attendence will be really huge at this event. {sarcasm}
