I'm feeling very, very evil today. Someone may be killed. PMS and moms with cancer are a deadly combination.....

This "Someone may be killed" sound like a new Apprentice type show ... you know, instead of "someone will be fired".

Can you saran wrap a toilet or play some eveil trick on someone -- that'll help

You think PMS is bad...wait for menopause...!!!

What's that Eagles' song (I think it's Eagles) "Somebody's gonna hurt someone, before the night is through..."

Also, certain Marianne Faithful songs (c.f. her cover of "Working Class Hero," but especially "Why'd You Do What You Did?")

You can keep the sweetsie folk chicks in the glovebox so far as I'm concerned...

Well, I just walked in to my boss and said "This strategy of saving all my vacation days to deal with my mom is not working and my head is going to explode. Do you mind if I take Friday off"?

She said "Just call in sick. But you didn't hear that from me". I almost cried.

Then, I remembered that I have a conference call that I cannot miss because we are at a go/no go decision point. I think I will take it from my deck.

Cyn - TS is in perimenopause. Sometimes my sweet, mild-mannered honey is truly frightening. I threaten to get her a red cape with a big M on it every once in awhile.

Alg- jokes would be good, but slapping would be better. Maybe I'll take a walk at lunch.

BTW - I strolled in at 10a this morning, since my boss & her boss (the VP) were supposed to be at an offsite. But, they don't leave until this afternoon. I beat the VP in by 5 minutes. Whew...

Would love to join you, but Ireland calls. Greenteree - it's been two months since your first post.. it must feel like a short time and a life time rolled into one. I think you have enough material now for a short story at the very least.... maybe something about GMF in Oprah's O Magazine - wouldn't she just love THAT! I'll be sending all good thoughts for you, TS & Mom (and Cynicalfamily too!) from the land of leprechauns & fairies.

I can't believe I'm saying this but I probably won't be able to come. My memo paid off w/respect to the gp, who prescribed these opiode patches (look like the smoking cessation things). Anyway, almost immediately upon sticking them on hisself, the back pain symptoms subsided to an extremely dull roar. Yesterday and today so far, cynicalboy is WAY cheerfuller and ate stuff. I take my kid to a beachjam drop off and then I might like to spend the actual evening with cynicalboy.

Today, I follow up with the onco to say "why restart chemo Monday? Why not wait a week or so till he's perkier/stronger."

It's always something...

Bets -- of course and yes, bring wine and Greenetree -- any nibbly things are great!

Bets -- do you still have my address?

SOLADY -- HAVE A GREAT TRIP -- I'm trying to convince my husband that we need to take our son on a trip to UK, Ireland, Amsterdam ... somewhere in November.

I wish I could come, but I'll be getting ready for two Girl Scout trips, although I'm only going on one of them. (They haven't yet perfected that "being in two places at one time" thing.) I'm sending my Senior troop off to beach jam, along with cynicalkid and hordes of other girl scouts (and probably some boy scouts) from M/SO, but my 4th graders are going camping far from the beach this weekend and that's where I'll be.

Well, Mom is feeling better. She cranky & complaining about all kinds of things & has a reason why every solution I suggest won't work.

In other words, she's feeling like her old self.

Baby Bro stepped up! Without me asking (OK, Dad, on his own and with my blessing, made a gentle suggestion that he go help with next week's chemo) he is going to go help mom next week.

Which means I have to fit another trip in, since I had a bunch of stuff to get done. But, that's OK.

Um, Bets.... How are you going to hang out if you are falling asleep if you don't go to bed at a reasonable hour? Hmmmm?

Alg, I'll be moving tomorrow and I have somehow managed to trick Mim (with an 'i' not an 'e') into lending me her daughter to help me unpack AND bringing me dinner! Would you kindly have a drink or five for me?

Ok - be honest..... Did you ever do the following in high school:

Your friend and his/her boyfriend/girlfriend are planning a little private time at his/her sister's/brother's/cousins house because the sister/brother/cousin will be out of town. The happy, horny teenage couple (Dave, can I say "horny"?) are all excited at the prospect of this private time in a comfortable place.

As a good and supportive friend, on the appointed evening, you & a bunch of other friends show up at the sister/brother/cousin's place, banging on doors and windows, with a case of beer, yelling "we're here! Let's party"!

Cyn - please post your address.

And you don't want to see either of us naked right now, me due to chub/jiggle, him due to "bag of bones and hank of hair"

I'm having a Walton's Mountain Moment... ya'll go to Algebra's & get all likkered up.. Straw drives you to Cyn's house and you serenade them with something schmaltzy. (Sort of a Southern Schiverie, but without the wedding)... ok.. carry on....
