Are we on? I want to make sure we're back from my brother's place on time. TS got a new ice cream maker for her Kitchen Aid. Anyone for ice cream cake? |

G*d I hope so. I'm either going to be very happy and in a mood to celebrate or very upset and in need of big laughs. |

I haven't heard from Mem yet, but I'm in a decent mood at the moment and say let's have me a birthday party! (somewhere...) My only concern is I am missing my TIARA. I wear it every year on my birthday (I throw myself a birthday party at the Arc where I volunteer, and since none of the autistic kids can wear hats, I get to be the only princess!). I must have thrown it away during the move in an "I'll show him" fit of rage (I threw out my tiara - who's laughing now, jerko!). So, providing I can find a new one, I say the party shall go on! Somewhere. With ice cream cake a la TS. And Bets. And Pippi and JTA and maybe Rissoto... |

We need a back-up plan. I don't know what time we will get home from my brother's Saturday afternoon, or I'd offer my house. Let's see how the day goes. Entry to the party (except for Las) will be one dish or bottle. Someone needs to bring a tiara. |

Don't hold the party on account of me (us). We will be home at some point - we are swapping kitty-sitting duties with friends. I just don't know what time. We will do our damndest to get there; but I'm not sure I can commit to TS making a cake. I'm sorry.

Cake schmake! We're having MOJITAS (the feminine plural). Things went well for me today and I am 100 pounds lighter. I've brought the eye candy in for cleaning. Please come. |

And, of course, las will wear her tiara with pride and jubilation. Endings are sometimes good. They generate new beginnings. |

Yup. It was great to be able to finally put faces and real names with MOL identities. Everyone was so much nicer and better looking than I anticipated! The hardest thing is calling people by their real names. I still think of everyone by their screen names, even you Pippi! |

An amazing thing happened and it happened to me and it happened a few nights ago and suffice it to say I can’t go into detail (but can promise my attorney approves of my actions ). You see I found a friend whose heart aches like mine and like me he has been alone and watching the world as it goes on without him remembering a life of the past and both of us met up and made a connection and decided that we could be friends. And the thing that happened a few nights ago made me once again look back and question the life that I had and the life that I loved and the person I thought loved me too. You see the other night my friend said some things and made me feel so alive and since that time I’ve been gushing and smiling and thinking back hard and looking deep down and realizing ‘him’ never made me feel as beautiful as I feel right now. But the funny thing is that for the first time since he left me and ruined my life as I knew it I’m not wallowing in the realization of loss but enjoying new memories I’ve made. And there will be more memories – I see that today (but who knows what tomorrow may bring) – so while I am smiling and dreaming and living I am looking ahead to the life that will be instead of the one that was. And the weekend I had has been filled with such richness and last night my friends around town threw a party for me to celebrate my birth and remind me I am not alone. And the friends that I made since my new life began are the best friends I’ll ever have because they could care less that my soul was in fog when they met me they just want me there right now to create new memories and enjoy my life one day and one step at a time. And these friends of mine who cheer me on have no idea of their strength and their impact on me with each email and phone call and hug and visit we have. And while I’m in this glass half full kind of mood and looking ahead I will share the good news that I’ve been hesitant to leak: that I have been assured by both lawyers producing this marital demise of mine that there will be some money so I must be sure to enroll for classes this fall! The implications of that are huger than life it means not just will I study, but there’s a future ahead! and I must start planning and dreaming and taking my steps.
