I'm sorry Pizzaz, but when the England lads are playing, the Yankees can take a seat and watch them play like the rest of us... Go England!!!!!! |

Pizzaz, there are 3 WC games tomorrow, at 9:00, 12:00 and 3:00. Do you know if Bunnies will be showing them all on the big screen TV ? There's the Yankess and some sort of horse race in the PM, but can easily be relegated to a corner TV |

Go to Cent'anni, where a world cup game will easily beat out a yankee game, and rightfully so. |

Wow... England looks like the England of previous World Cups... limited teamwork despite all that talent. Play that Theo kid! Ivory Coast. Upset Specialists. Book it! 8) |

They won, but didn't look great. The defense was OK, but where was the midfield ? Paraguay were winning most of the possesion in midfield and were able to move the ball. The lads will have to do better (maybe not against T & T, but definately against the Swedes) Maybe time for Rooney to play 30-40 minutes ? |

Not sure how fit Rooney will be... no harm starting Theo against T&T really. Rooney may only aggravate his injury (which in normal instances I wouldn't feel too sorry for since he plays for The Manchester Buccaneers and seeing Fergie burst a few veins would be priceless). So far, U.S. TV commentary on the World Cup is somewhat bearable ("he's one of the best passers in the game!", "this is the best midfield in the world", "no one can make that kind of spot kick")... the last time I had to watch with the sound turned off. |

I'm glad they won.... I was so engrossed in the game I forgot that my car was on a meter and got back to find a ticket.. Now, that really would have sucked if England had lost... |

Projects Dude - had to laugh at the US commentary for the England vs Paraguay match....it was dire..."what's a geezer?" LOL! You can listen to more informative commentary of live World Cup matches from English commentators by going to the 'Sun online's' website (you can't get the BBC commentary from outside the UK, bah!): http://www.thesun.co.uk I'm listening to the Sweden vs Trinidad & Tobago live from 'The Sun' online site...tried to listen to it on XM satellite radio but it's pretty awful.. |

Miss L T, If you were State-side during the last World Cup, you would know that this time the commentary is A LOT better by miles. It was simply horrendous the last time... "amazing pass by [insert name of better known player]! few in the world can do that with such precision" [umm... it was a basic pass you see in any EPL game]... "unbelieveable crossing in this game made the difference!"... "there such a method to the way the 'keeper, or "goalie" as they are known in europe, throws with such laser like precision"... "even the way the Brazilians fall is beeeeauuutiful!" I was in b-school with lots of international students then and everyone cringed and groaned, and we had to watch it on mute. |

Was Cent'anni open this morning for the match? My wife and I took a spin past it at about 8:30am, but it looked closed, so we ended up going to Bunny's in South Orange. We were there watching the England match with a few other people (including a lady with two young England supporters (her children) showing their support - we were so proud!) I didn't actually ask anyone else there if they were an MOLer - did anyone else go to watch? Anyway, good result - game was so-so. Most of the action was in the first 15 minutes, then the pace just seemed to slow down. Now, the Sweden-Trinidad/Tobago game this afternoon was a scorcher. Shaka Hislop was awesome! Jason Jason |

And thanks to my wife for procuring some good bacon, egg + cheese butties (Bunny's kitchen wasn't yet open) from the bagel shop next to Dunkin Donuts Jason |

Jason, yes, Cent'Anni's was open for the game, although I didn't get there until about 8.45, having just closed the place down what seems like a couple of hours earlier...you missed the (free) bacon sandwiches I'm afraid..but a win is a win! |

I was thrilled that Trinidad & Tobago tied Sweden and am not sorry to report that I'll be rooting for them on Thursday vs. England. I watched part of the Ivory Coast vs. Argentina game at Bunny's and had pleasant MOL encounters with LazyDog, Algebra & Straw, Pizzaz, Matt Foley, and (briefly) the Mayor himself. If the England game is a time that I can be available on Thursday, I will get down to Bunnys. Is it mid-day? If so I can be there about 12.45 after No.1 goes to school... I would love to see you there bets, but I have a feeling I will convert you to an England fan...

All bodes not well for the US team--- today's match against the Czech Republic made me wonder if the US team was aware that the ball was on the pitch and that it was round. |

If US commentators say one more time that the U.S. is playing in "the toughest group in the tournament" I think I'm going to watch the rest of the tourney on Univision/El Mundo... OK so it's not the easiest group (those lucky Spanish bastids!) but it certainly ain't the Argentina-Holland-IvoryCoast-Serbia group of death either. That and any more "great give-and-go!" or "he just set up a great pick for his forward" (!?!??!) will just about drive me nuts. That said, fun tourney so far!

Check out ESPN360 on their website. I think you need a PC and perhaps a Verizon connection. I just watched the Brazil-Croatia match on it. |

I believe the BBC broadcasting all games live on the web, but only if you're in the UK. I know, I know...really useful info |

I guess I'm just unlucky. A friend at work found and tested a BBC connection and all worked fairly smoothly; the BBC does not plan to broadcast the Trinidad-Tobago vs. Englad soiree. Poland put up a damn good fight against Germany (based upon my sub-standard alert sites). I wish America paid attention.

I caught the end of the Germany-Poland match today in the city. I had a meeting that ended early and wandered into a random bar with the match on every tv. Great game. I'm rooting for England, since I'll always be partial to where I first understood World Cup. I was studying in London during the last one and absorbed it all. Funny but true: I watched the England-Argentina match from the Sky Bar in the Guinness brewery in Dublin. A weekend away, and we had gotten so into World Cup (a bunch of Americans!) and we couldn't bear to miss the match. I just wish more Americans would get into it though... |

For the first 60 mins it was England-Paraguay all over again. The match changed with the introduction of Aaron Lennon, my Spurs boy. It was his beautiful header back to Becks which he crossed to Crouch for the 1st goal. England should consider starting Lennon for the next match in midefield and switching to 3-5-2 with Rooney and Crouch up top. |
