No, as in someone in Bunnys could be cheering for Germany.... well, I suppose in your defence (and you do need defence) England weren't playing so you had to cheer for someone... |

Only just discovered this thread - anyone been watching the Aussie games? We're playing Brazil on Sunday. Team includes a player from around here - we're so proud, he actually managed to either kick or save a goal in the last game (but of couorse I can't remember which he did, nor can I remember who we played - was it Japan?) Anyway, we might be someone's 'other' team to barrack for (oh heck - you don't 'barrack', do you?? ummm, cheer)... |

Go Socceroos!!! Thanks, SOP - I'll probably sleep through although I'm fairly sure my other half won't as he went to bed early this evening claiming a headache Have you guys seen any news clips of the Aussie Rules footballer who passed out mid-word during an interview this morning? Justin Koschitzcke (sp?) fractured his skull 6 weeks ago and got the all-clear to resume playing next week. That's what the interview was about, and he was doing alright then suddenly started repeating phrases, slurring words, swayed then passed out. Many hours and more scans later they're now claiming it is viral infection, but I reckon there's an acquired brain injruy of some kind... |

Poor Socceroos....no doubt they were valiant. Everyone here was hoping for a draw, and I heard that at least four of the teams over there are coached by Dutch players of the same era (a bit like our cricket gods), so the chances all round were for interesting games to watch. What's on next? |

95 minutes to kick-off. A draw for England will have them beating Ecuador on Sunday morning. (ESPN at 3:00 on Bunnies big screen....) |

I can't believe they drew..... It didn't help that Sweden were wearing yellow (of course they would be). My little one was cheering them on saying "Yellow win, yellow win" as it's her favourite colour... Still, at the end she managed to shout go England - There is hope for her yet. |

no offence, but who needs Americans when you have Aussies in Howlong, yelling for the Socceroos?
(I gotta get a life - and I gotta get some more work done! It's only 4.36 pm our time) |

So glad there's a soccer discussion here, even if I am one of the only Americans by birth jumping into it. You heard it here first. I think it'll be Ghana against Ecuador for the finals, and Ghana will win.

Yeah, well done Australia! (although England is my home team the close ties with our two countries and that some of the Oz national team members play in the English football league encourages me to cheer on Oz...also have many expat Aussie mates here in NJ). And the guys in the Socceroos are so hot LOL! Italy next round though.....(gulp) |
