Why not approach Neelam to have a class. This way everyone can support their business at the same time. |

Oh, gosh, I hope we're on. I've really been looking forward to it, though I haven't gotten my "supplies" list from Tom. Tom, did you send it out? I even made a brownie cake to celebrate my son's birthday. |

Sorry Jasper but looks like we would have to reschedule our "cooking do" to another date. Hope that is ok with the others. Hapy B'day to your son. |

You heard this directly from David? I've been spending my morning preparing, and this is bad timing to hear we're off.

mustt - I have replied to your emails but it seems you're not receiving them for some reason, don't know why that would be...anyway we are still on, I thought around 6.30 to kick it off. I believe a fee of $10 will cover everything, including soft drinks (bar will be open for those requiring other beverages). Mustt, I plan on providing the chicken, beans, lentils - any spices or anything else you would like me to provide? Hope to see everyone there this evening. Regards. |

Hi Chris, Wonder why I did not receive your replies. Anyway, look forward to our event tonight. Glad it's on. Btw, I forgot to add tomatoes to the list. See y'all tonight. |

Whew! I had already told my son that we'd be baking challah, and he told me he wanted to eat all the challah himself! We would have been rather disappointed if it was off. I'll be happy to use the challah to dip into my Indian food. Tom, don't forget to let me know what I need to bring, if anything. Otherwise, I'll just bring an apron. |

Uh oh. I thought we were off, so I left my stuff at home. I left a ball of dough in the fridge. I hope that will suspend the rising process. And for some reason, I called Chris "David." Sorry! jasper and Wilkanoid, if it's not too late and not too much trouble, please bring a large mixing bowl and a bread cooling rack. If it's any difficulty, we'll do fine without them. Also, please bring some bread flour. I like the King Arthur brand, if you can find it. |

Tom, I have a bowl and a rack, but I'll need to pick up the bread flour. I know Kings carries King Arthur brand, but do you know if they have bread flour in the Maplewood store? If not, where do you get it? |

I can get the flour just about anywhere, but I don't know if Kings Maplewood has it. If they don't, you can use regular white flour. I think I have enough, so your bag would be just in case I don't. Bread flour has more gluten, which makes the bread a bit softer.

Just for the record, Kings Maplewood does carry King Arthur flour, but they only have the unbleached all purpose. For bread flour, I had to go with Pillsbury. I just don't have time today to run around in search of the best choice, so hopefully the Pillsbury will do fine. They do have a cute dough boy, after all. |

I stopped by for a taste - the chettinad pepper chicken was delicious. As was the chickpea dish and challah. I was too late and missed out on the green beans with coconut, but I got the recipe at least. |

What a fun evening that was! The food was great, the people were delightful, I loved learning how to make challah, and little jasper had a great ending to his birthday. I'll upload some photos that Mr. jasper took of the event tomorrow evening. I've got a challah in the oven and then I need to get to sleep! Thanks to all for sharing your cooking talents, and especially to Chris and Laura for hosting the event. It was a special treat to work in a real restaurant kitchen. Oh, and thanks to Jamie and Dave for creating MOL, which makes so many great things possible. I agree with mantram - our two towns are truly an awesome place to live. |

I am SO tired from standing around the hot kitchen! I can only wonder how those who actually cooked feel this morning. And I don't know about anyone else, but I had weird dreams last night. Maybe I'll stop in Thursday night too, after the opening at the CDF Gallery. |

Thanks everyone, for the great night we had last night. The adults had fun, the kids were on a sugar high, and the food was excellent. I'm getting hungry again just thinking about it. We really appreciated the hard work that went to each of the dishes on a boiling hot day. Tom, Marinab, Chris, and Mr. and Mrs. Mustt were troopers. Tom was especially patient with the wandering attention span of the younger set of kids. I felt like we were playing 'kitchen' with the restaurant's super-sized equipment and supplies. Our apologies for eating and running (and not helping with the clean-up), but I had visions of scooping the melted, temperamental five-year old up after she exploded. I'm looking forward to exploring South Indian cuisine this summer!
