Should Mike Piazza spell Slo Mo Vaughn at first for 40 or 50 games thereby reducing the wear and tear of being a catcher while simultaneously preparing Mr. Piazza for his eventual new position? The guy breaks down earlier and earlier with each year.

Obviously Piazza should be playing first, at least for half the games. But they've got a long term investment in Vaughn and that mistake has already been made. You can't have a player like Mo around and not play him.
