I cast my vote. Bruce is only trailing by 644 votes! Get up, stand up ...

The article inspired an ongoing e-discussion among some old friends and Bruce fans: "Top Ten Bruce Tunes"? Let's hear 'em ...

Just checked the voting, and Jack-O is still in the lead. Get over there and vote, dammit!

ml1,

While Born to Run is probably the greatest album of all time, I actually find myself listening to Greetings or the Wild, Innoccent.... more often these days. Perhaps, I've overplayed Born to Run too much in my youth to appreciate it as much these days. What I wouldn't give to be able to hear it "for the first time" again!

The River has become a recent favorite for me. Many of the songs now reveal other facets because I'm coming to them from a different point of view. It's not like hearing the album for the first time, but it does feel fresh again.

Thunder Road - Still brings tears to my eyes.

Born to Run - Still gives me chills.

Land of Hope and Dreams - This train carries saints and sinners!!!

Drive All Night - One of the most amazing live songs I have ever heard him sing.

Promised Land - In my opinion, the most "Bruce" Bruce song.

Incident on 57th Street - Main Point, Bryn Mawr, PA, w/Suki Lahav on violin. "Them romantic young boys..."

If I Should Fall Behind - First dance at my wedding.

Jungleland - I saw nearly 40 shows on the BITUSA tour, and even at the very last show, the sight of the crowd during this song took my breath away!

Jersey Girl - The best Springsteen song he never wrote.

Racing in the Streets - If you see a car with a bumper sticker says "My other car is a 69 Chevy with a 396", it may be me....

"Racing in the Streets" is one of my favorite songs too. I was driving home late last night and my wife started singing it to me. Those words and her voice almost made me start to cry. Great Song!

Now I don't want anybody complaining about not having enough notice ...

3 nights at Giants Stadium this Summer.

Psyched for a massive NJ party or bummed that it'll involve watching the concert on the jumbotron screens?

I'm pretty bummed, since the rumor I had heard was 9 nights at the Continental Arena. Fewer shows with fewer good seats means settling for the binocular sections, or paying $$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

I, for one, will try to get close. If I can't get close, I'll save the dough. Greensboro, NC (4' from stage) spoiled me for good ... Might do a tailgate thing though ...

I agree, disappointing news.

Two weeks @ the Arena would be much better.

But we're all so weak, we'll try for tickets in the end ...

the boss has crossed union picket lines("HEY MAN, I'M NOT FOR THE UNIONS OR THE COMPANIES- I'M FOR YOU....") and backed out of his promise not to do videos.
he is also a disturbing white trash dirt bag cult figure, who sends his kid to private school.
his marginal music is slightly enhanced by energetic live performance.

basically- the boss sucks- a glorified bar band member he is i tell ya......

It's a sad funny ending
To find yourself pretending
A rich man in a poor man's shirt

"Better Days", 1992

He's written about that very problem - how to stay real when you become a star. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to get ready to roll the video tape for the Grammy Awards. Hey Redsox, what time does the J. Geils Band go on?

Sincerely,
A card-carrying white trash dirt bag cult member.

That being said, great article in Entertainment Weekly. Excerpts on-line at www.ew.com.
