So, after reading doom and gloom about coming budget deficits (400 trillion plus, yikes!!!), I've decided to wallow in nostalgic musings of days gone by... Anyone care to join me? I'll go first. 1.Cheap dates with other starving artist types (that's how I met my wife) 2.Hiking and camping in the Adirondacks 3.Inhaling ('nuff said) 4.Thanksgiving with friends BUT not family 5.Road Trips |

.... my first apartment. .... running the concert series and meeting all those early 70's druggies. .... hitching from Colorado to LA, then driving US1 up to Seattle, with a big bag of hootch. .... leaving four years of fun behind to hunker down and work for post graduate degree. |

I met some nice people (and some not nice ones) in college (University of Pennsylvania). But basically I didn't like school and was much happier when I got out and (miraculously) got a job quickly. Universities are large factories for ripping off undergraduates. |

The feeling of absolute freedom. Other than class or work, nowhere in particular to go or be. Going out for cigarettes and wandering home 3 days and many adventures later. The sense of being able to go anywhere or do anything (even tho the wallet didn't support the reality!) Hey- that's the biggest thing: I had no real income but seemed to have alot more money. |
