Milk Duds
Reeses PB Cups
Milky Way
Hershey Bars

I only bought things that wouldn't tempt me, I only bought 4 bags & when that's gone, the lights are getting turned out.

I haven't opened one bag and this will be the first year that we won't need an equity loan to pay for all the candy! I have 4 days left to stick to my plan......

I should do that too. Maybe I'll look for mini LifeSaver packs -- I don't like those at all. We don't get many trick or treaters but I have that fear of being unprepared, so I am sure if you run out I'll have plenty extra!

If you don't like peanut butter cups and hershey bars, what do you like??? Those are some of the BEST things--I'll have to figure out where you live and bring my kids to your house! If I were to give out candy I won't eat it would be Mounds, Almond Joy, and tootsie rolls.

I haven't bought my candy yet because I know I can't be trusted. I'll run to BJ's for the huge bags in a day or two.

One of my kids has a peanut allergy, so I get to trade her for all of her peanut candy. Then I eat it all when she goes to bed! (What can I say, I've been living a sad life devoid of peanut butter cups, butterfingers, and peanut butter cookies ever since we found out about the allergy).Happy Halloween!

We cooked too many boxes of ravioli for a dinner thing this past weekend. I am gonna baggie them and plunk 'em in the goodie sack. Anyone interested in our address for some hot and spicy broccoli rabe ravioli?

How about a can of Kirkland solid white albacore. We seem to be overstocked with them too.

I love Almond Joys! Nothing better than a bag of Almond Joys and a jug of Pinot Noir -- HOORAY for Halloween on a Friday night!

Gretchen- I used to love PB cups, but I'm not in the mood for the PB/choc combo thing these days. And Hershey bars are kind of boring. Now - Almond Joys are another story - my only complaint is that they should be dark choc w/ coconut & almonds!

Also, KitKats are great. Someone here has stocked her desk with the mini-bars that you don't feel guilty eating. Hmmm - I think I'll go get a couple for dinner (I'm still at my desk).

US2- The Spouse is always buying those 80-packs of tuna. I think we are just running out of the 2003 supply. Tuna and those freakin' napkins... every time she goes to Cosco, she brings home a 42-pack of napkins. And then, because they are so bulky, they get put away & we use all the paper towels as napkins because we are too lazy to go dig out the napkins.

I wish I had a modicum of willpower. I bought YET ANOTHER bag of peanut m&m's tonight at the store. I hope this one makes it until Friday! We also have a bag of Twizzlers. We live on a street that unfortunately doesn't get a lot of kids, so I'm sure this will be plenty.

Greentree -- Thanks for the chuckle! We do the same thing!

Why should I watch out for allergies? The kids parents should be watching out for them. Maybe they should wear a sign?? How the f--- am I supposed to know.

Too many prissy parents who will not take responsibility for their children's lives. oooh Joey can't have chocolate or peanuts. Keep the kid home if he can die from eating candy. I feel bad for the kid (what kind of life is there without candy), but hey we all carry our own burdens.

BTW, If I were hosting a private party and one of the parents told me their son was allergic, I would make accommodations, just like I do for my Kosher relatives.

so long as my kid, my spouse and I don't have them, nut allergies ain't my problem.

it would be a sad, sad world, if little Johnnie's nut allergy meant NO ONE got Reese cups on Halloween!

The cave is really spooky this year: lots of "KEEP OUT', "GO AWAY", "NO PEDDLARS", and "VICIOUS DOG" signs all around the entrance,
plenty of that cheesy "fake cobweb" stuff draped everywhere, and one huge pumpkin (lifted from Nettie Oakes', thank you very much), hollowed out and wired with a speaker to play "The Ride of the Valkeries" all night.

...And for any kid brave enought to get right up to the mouth of the cave: a wicker basket filled with Divinity, for the taking. Happy Ramadan!

--The Oracle of MOL

BTW: Halloween is my absolute favorite semi-religous holiday. Followed by Hurling Day, Talk-Like-a-Pirate Day, Take-Your-Daughter-To-Work Day,
National Gorilla Suit Day, and Tubischvat. Oh, and National Henway Day...

M&Ms and Kit-Kat Bars.

(Kit-Kats first; the M&Ms can be baked into holiday cookies if any are left over.)

Lots of 'em. It's a Friday night, folks, and the little spooky hordes will be out in force.

Oh, yeah, what's a henway?

Greenetree,

DOH!

The basket is by the front door (I just can't wait and my goodies are packed with Scandanavian goodness!) So far 2 family members and 2 guests have sneered at my humble sugar fest. Hmmph!

No candy ... we have little toys (stickers, tatoos, glow in the dark rings, etc.) from Oriental Trading Co. The great thing is it doesn't really cost any more than candy AND if you have leftovers you can save them for next year. Not to mention the fact that they have no calories!
