Picked up a big takeout order at 6 last night and Burnet's beautiful 80-seat dining room on Springfield was 100 percent empty. I found that odd. The food is good and the value so high. |

Alan, my guess is that many diners were too busy Christmas shopping last night. I agree that the food is terrific and the value is excellent. Cathy |

We got takeout from Burnett last night. It was great!... and very inexpensive! Yes, I did note that the restaurant was empty. |

We ate there on a rainy Tuesday evening last week, the dining room was pretty empty (just us at first, then two other tables before we left) but they seemed to be doing good take out business. And I agree, the dining room was very attractive, food was great (I had chicken francese, hubby had ribs), and the price totally cheap! Only downside was the service, which was attentive at first but, when it came to getting the bill, almost neglectful, in that empty-restaurant sort of way. We'll definitely give them another try in the future, I just hope enough other people are patronizing them to keep them in business! |

I don't believe they have a liquor license. This might effect their dining room business since ribs without beer is like, well, take your pick... |

I still don't think it's quite known yet. Most evenings, you can't get your torso into the Burnet BBQ places on Stuyvesant and on Burnet off Vauxhall. |

Across from the Burger King, but a few doors down toward the Millburn direction. We had take out last night... about $35.00, including tip... for a family of 6, with 4 teenagers, and there were leftovers. When they say barbeque, it's not that gloppy red sauce. It's Portuguese barbeque, focusing more on the meat and spices. |

You can take Yale Street, and make a left into the municipal parking lot at the end of the block: the takeout entrance is right there, or you can walk through into the restaurant through the French doors. Couldn't be more convenient! |

Had a really good dinner there last night--though the place was empty again (is it just competing with Christmas shopping?). Anyway, one of our entrees wasn't very good (a pork and potatoes and clams and sauce sort of dish that was kind of greasy with pretty tough meat) and we decided to let them know about it when they asked. They asked re the rest of the dinners (which were excellent--tender, tasty ribs and chicken and great beans and fries) and then basically insisted on making us a whole other dinner, packing it right up for us to take home since we were already pretty full. I tried to let them off the hook, but they wouldn't have it. But now we have another (large) dinner to share tonight, and I have a moment to give them this plug. Go Burnet BBQ--we'll certainly return there! |

the bbq chicken and ribs are outstanding. we have eaten them a million times over the past 5-6 years, from the little shack in union. i still mostly get take out from the new place, but the d.r. is so nice. it should be filled. |

Went to Burnett's BBQ last night and we were 1 of two tables. I thought the food was good, not to mention how inexpensive it was + left overs for tonight. I am really surprised how empty the restaurants in Maplewood are. My husband and I think that all these places are going to go out of business and we will be forced to work 10 hr days and then make dinner when we get home. |

For a weekday dinner we go to either Toro Loco or the Pub. Both places I can get a reasonably healthy meal (fajitas or a burger and veggies), a beer, and stay close to home. Both those places are never empty. I got the menu from Burnett BBQ and it didn't look that cheap or interesting to me. |

Burnett's BBQ is not your regular BBQ...It's more of a portugese style. I don't know what people consider expensive for dinner, but Burnett will not break the bank. |

What is so surprising about BBQ being empty, the last two resturants @ that location were allways empty too. |
