MSO Schools are encouraging children to bring Valentines in school today; art classes are working on Valentine Day's projects; hearts, "love" posters, and other paraphenelia is being displayed in the classroom; staff, teachers, and children were greating each other on school property this morning at the sound of "Happy Valentine's Day"; etc. Personally, I find it offensive and exclusionary to parents and children who don't love or don't want to love anybody. I am immediately writting a letter to the School District. Who's with me? We'll see if Valentine's Day gets celebrated in schools next year. |

So you are for Xmas and against V-day?? Sounds a bit anti-catholic of you. Have a nice day. |

That was the most unnecessary first post I've read in a while. Save, are you involved in any other school issues or just this one? |

That's right, SavetheHolidays, thanks for forgoing, if even but for a moment, the doctrines and the pious gooey safety net of a sanctimonious religion that pretends to know all the answers, and giving us all a whimsical chuckle on this St. Valentine's Day. |

If that isn't a tipoff that this is tongue-in-cheek, then I don't know what to say. My cow-orker's son's kindergarten is having "acknowledge your friend" day today. Sheesh. |

I'm not wound up as tight as I seem, but to me this feels more like a parting shot at people who felt strongly in favor of the ban. |

Susan- Save is being sarcastic. Then again, Valentine's Day is based on a Saint. Surprised the idiots against the holiday music at Christmas haven't caused a stink. |

Hey, I know that Save is tongue in cheek...I also know that he/she is only posting under that name to stir the hornets nest. Albatross is on the money on this one! And don't assume much about how I'm strung...I've always been told that my humor is rather dry. But golly, thanks to all those of you who want to enlighten me about sarcasm... But seriously, I hope everyone has had a lovely day with those they love. Even Save. |

You never can tell here on MOL. Stick your neck out, however well intentioned, and you may get your head bit off. I thought it had to be a joke when it was first posted, but you just never know with some people! |

No...I'm thoroughly annoyed with Savethemusic's antics, and not inclined to take his/her "tongue in cheek" humor as simple humor. Savethemusic is a one-issue screen name (probably for someone who has more than one screen name), so I'll assume that any postings under that name are basically postings about the school music issue, and take them in that context, relative to Save's other postings over time. I've got a good sense of humor for people who I think are funny...less so for people who get my blood pressure up! |

Savethemusic has every right to be sarcastic or harp about one issue. What is your problem? |

No problem, but I have every right to be sarcastic or harp back at him/her. So what's your point? |
