I'm sure it's all just coincidental, but it does seem strange that three relatively longstanding restaurants in town -- Waterlillies, American Fare and Celebrated Food -- have all changed ownership in a matter of a few weeks.

As a strong Maplewood supporter, I always support new town businesses, but I have to question the wisdom of a new Italian restaurant (D'Asti's has replaced the old Celebrated Foods). Yes, their prices are lower than Cent'Anni but two Italian restaurants across from each other?

As one of the early observers of the nail salon expansion in town, I might now add that we have five food establishments in town serving Italian meals (absolutely amazing in a county where it seems that half the restaurants are Italian). Roughly one-third of the all the food businesses in town now specialize in Italian food.
