I think sparkling wine goes with most any meal. Cliquot NV is a fine champagne but the price has crept up over the years...the good thing about the "alleged" champagne shortage before the millenium celebrations was that smaller, lesser known, lower priced champagnes were more readily available on the market. If money isnt much of a considerable, try Cliquot's tete de cuvee (their version of Moet's Dom Perignon)...Le Grande Dame. I prefer rose champagnes and blanc de noirs but I wont turn down any others...even dessert champagnes.
