Welcome Michael (I guess I can say that), I've been on MOL for about three weeks but I don't officially move to Mwood until 8/14/03. My family and I too are from BKLYN and we're looking forward to life in the "subs". I thought where we were moving is the wild part of town, near Boyden Park? Oh well, I guess anything close to Irvington is considered bad from the threads I read. Maybe one day we can get together and talk about how we cope with the danger (shakin) of living next to Irvington. |

Welcome, Michael. I'm about as excited as you. I moved in on June 30. I grew up in Manhattan and spent the last 16 years (ugh) in Edison, NJ. I live on Plymouth Av, not far from you. Then again, no one is far in Maplewood. Art, your comment about still getting better after 57 years is heartwarming. Tom Reingold

Bklyntonj, Sounds like you're moving near Milo S.Borden Park off Boyden Avenue. FYI, we're having our second community meeting at my home at 7PM next Wednesday night about the bus traffic along Boyden Avenue. Give me a call (762-8518), you're more than welcome to attend, as is anyone else interested in the problem. Good luck on your move and welcome to town... BTW Tom, thank you. Maplewood has always had a special feeling, even with all her perceived faults... |

Welcome all! As a former Slopie and before that, West Sider (plus a detour to Hoboken), I wanted to say howdy. We (me, Mr. G, Aaron, 12, Lila, 8, and Andre, 2 1/2) have been here 3 years and love it. Hope you will, too! -DebG |

I thought I'd pass along a helpful hint for people who've just moved. I use two phone lookup services on the web: http://www.anywho.com and http://www.switchboard.com On switchboard, you can modify or add a listing. So I added myself at my new address, in case people try to look me up on switchboard. Unfortunately, it is not possible to do this on anywho. Tom Reingold

Hi everyone. We are looking for a house and have started looking in the maplewood area. We are in the process of making an offer on a house in the Tuscan area, off of SA. Can anyone tell me anything about the area? We'd appreciate any info Thanks

Hi Natalia, Welcome. I would suggest you read through these threads a little more. It's a great town, but as for the Tuscan area off SA, it covers a large area and it would be best to hear from someone who lives there.... Good luck. |

As Art says, it does cover a large area. If you indicate the nearest intersection, that would narrow it down and then perhaps someone in the same neighborhood will weigh in.

bklntonj, welcome! I am just a bit ahead of you. My wife and I moved in on June 30. The neighbors have been great, and the neighborhood is so beautiful. Every time I go out, I am overwhelmed. Tom Reingold
